If you want a cheap used slide scanner, the only one of the older generation we recommend is the Nikon LS 2000. You need its 2700 dpi. We do not recommend any slide scanners with just 2400 dpi.

The Polaroid SprintScan 35 series did not fare well in some reviews when compared with the Nikon CoolScan LS-2000
(which is the model we bought for the FLAAR Photo Archive several years ago).

So Polaroid came out with their 4000 dpi model which beat Nikon, but only for about a year. Then Microtek launched ads for it's 4000 dpi version (made in the same factory as the Polaroid scanner). Finally Nikon came out with a 4000 dpi model that clobbered everyone's earlier models.

Auto feeding systems usually don't work, so don't waste your money on them unless you pay with a credit card so you can return it if it does not function as advertised.
